Hey, at least it’s not in her mouth…
At Small Fancy this week we did a simutaneous photo. Looks like Mia was standing beside Elvis Costello at 11:30.
Just saw that Heidi from My Paper Crane‘s book is now available. Looks like lots of fun.
Happy weekend!
There’s no school or work today. We’re enjoying this day together, but also feeling sad and dreaming of peace.
Much fun to be had with Instagram… I’ve given myself the challenge of blogging more often. Wish me luck!
It’s feeling very Vancouver-y here in Charlottetown these days. Lots of rain…
I’ve been working on some fabric pieces to send off to that lovely city. This one is going to be heading to the Cross.
Also, if you are Vancouver, don’t forget to check out the Jupiter Project’s T-shirt show at Tees.
Soup and slippers, two essentials for this time of year. This morning they matched.
Soup: beet soup, my recipe. (which is to simply find all the beets in the bootom of your fridge and put them in a pot. Add red cabbage and red onion because they’re purple too.)
Slippers: Camper slippers, best . birthday. gift. ever. (thanks Paul)
Poor little Sweetie didn’t last long in this world… we were very sad, but now we have Lisa. She is much more social and active than Sweetie was. Look! We even got a picture. She is adorable. Paul finally got his Lisa (it was his name choice for both our girls), Sosi chose the name just for him.
I just finished these little portraits for the super sweet Tamara, who is even more adorable and lovely in person than she is on T.V.
So excited about the Jupiter Project’s upcoming t-shirt show. Sneak Preview can be viewed here. I want one of these for both Ila and Sosi.
Our theme over at Small Fancy is “Halloween Freaks“. Happy Halloween!
I’ve had these tiny canvases for some time. I thought they would be perfect for some portraits of my girls.
This time of year for me is all about the knitting. It’s hard to not be knitting all the time… This week’s theme at Small Fancy is “Autumn Sweater“.
For all you folks worried about sweet Ila from last week’s Small Fancy (she’s only going 1 morning a week), she’s doing much better at daycare. She even ventured off the couch and made me a craft last time. She points to it all day, beaming with pride.
Sosi found my button collection the other day and we decided to make button rings after an intense sorting session (oh, she is my daughter!).
We used straightened paper clips (the coloured ones are best), wrapped them around a marker to make a ring, and slip the button on. Super simple and very fun.
I think Thanksgiving has to be one of my favourite holidays, mostly because it is centered around food… in particular pumpkin pie. Sosi shares my deep love of pumpkin pie. I always make her a mini pie, because I know she has a hard time waiting until dinner to have some.
I finished Ila’s dress. It turned out so great, so cute and cozy. I used this pattern here and made a few modifications. I will definitely be knitting more dresses!
This is my latest commission. It’s being donated to a local women’s shelter here in Charlottetown, and will be hung in its new playroom.
This week’s Small Fancy theme is “Garfield“.
Happy Thanksgiving weekend to all you Canadians! 🙂
We got a hamster! His name is “sweetie”. He is adorable and we are all totally in love with him. The only problem is this is about as much as we ever see of him. He either really loves the little house we built him… or he hates us. Not sure which it its.
This week’s theme at Small Fancy is “Climb every Mountain“. It’s an homage of sorts to our friends Anastasia and Josué who just got back from climbing mountains in Africa (!).
My trip last weekend was so much fun! Even though I was dreading turning 37 (sounds so old), I think I might have had one of my best birthdays yet. I was thoroughly spoiled. I want to thank everyone who made it such a great day, especially my lovely husband who held down the fort while I was away. The kids had so much fun, I don’t think they even noticed I was gone. 🙂
Today i turn 37, it’s a happy day.
Tomorrow I’ll be even happier as I fly off (alone!!) for a weekend with my best friend of 20 years. Happy weekend!
