2 Years

labri

Here’s something a little different… I’ve never done a custom painting of a house before.

It’s always nice to get back to painting when I haven’t done it for a while. Now I feel all warmed up , I don’t want to stop!

Today is our 2 year anniversary of moving to P.E.I. It still doesn’t quite feel real, like I am going to wake up at any moment and find myself  back in Vancouver.

New Cards

card01

I’ve been busy working away on wholesale orders of my cards. My husband thinks I’m crazy for making these by hand (he is all about functionality and usability). Each card is hand cut and sewn by me. I love this work so much.  I know I could produce more cards if I made them in a different way, but I like how they are each unique and slightly imperfect. I find something very therapeutic in repetative tasks.

If you are in Vancouver, you can find them at The Cross and Molly’s Furniture Salad.  Love, Me in Halifax has some as well. I have the Birthday Balloon and Leaf Boy Thank you cards in my shop and hope to soon have some Christmas ones there too. First I need a bit of a break from my sewing machine!

Sneak Peek

I have been working on a screen print to offer to people who come looking for a gift for a new little baby or just someone they think is super special. Here is a little sneak peek, I should have them available soon!

Wax Paper Leaf Book

We went for a “nature walk” the other day. We came home with such a lovely collection of leaves I wanted to somehow extend their lifespan. I remember having a wonderful afternoon with my mom when I was about Sosi’s age, pressing leaves between wax paper.  I’ve always had it in the back of mind as something I wanted to do with my kids.

While I was busy ironing the pages, I handed Sosi the much coveted Sharpie marker and asked that she could decorate the finished pages. I was so happy to see that she automatically drew faces of the leaves. I was planning for us to look up all the different types of leaves and label them all. I like her idea much better.

Hello, again

hello-again

Hello, again. I’m back with a new site and a whole new appreciation for blogging! I have missed this as a place a whole lot over the past few months. It feels good to leave that old site behind me and to start fresh.

I have big plans for this little space. Mia and I are still planning a project together, but this place will be more for me to talk about things I am working on and what is inspiring me. I hope you’ll stick around, I’ve missed you!
